This policy explains how ClimbSmart Plumbing & Electrical Sdn Bhd ("ClimbSmart", "we", "us") handles personal data collected through climbsmart.my and in the course of providing plumbing and electrical services. We process personal data in accordance with the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
1. Data we collect
When you send our booking form, call, email or message us on WhatsApp, we may collect your name, phone number, email address, service address, and the description of the work you need. When you visit the site, our hosting provider records standard server logs: IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps.
2. Why we collect it
- To respond to enquiries, prepare quotes and schedule technician visits
- To issue invoices and honour workmanship warranties, which requires keeping a record of past jobs at your address
- To meet legal and accounting obligations that apply to a Malaysian Sdn Bhd
- To understand, in aggregate, which pages of the site visitors find useful
3. What we do not do
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We do not send marketing blasts — if you hear from us, it is about your job, your warranty or your quote. We do not collect payment card details through this website.
4. Sharing
Data is shared only where the service requires it: with our technicians to carry out your booking, with suppliers when a part is ordered for your job, and with professional advisers (accountants, insurers) under confidentiality obligations. We may disclose data where Malaysian law requires it.
5. Retention
Job records, including your contact details and the work performed, are kept for seven years to satisfy warranty and tax requirements, after which they are deleted or anonymised. Enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted within twelve months.
6. Security
Access to customer records is limited to staff who need them for scheduling, invoicing and warranty service. The website transmits form data over HTTPS and does not store submissions in a public-facing database.
7. Your rights under the PDPA
You may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask for corrections, or withdraw consent to further processing (which may limit our ability to honour a warranty tied to your job history).
